Rubric for AP World History Research Presentation

 

 

 

Organization5 points

5       Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow.

4       Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow.

3       Audience has difficulty following presentation because student jumps around.

2       Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no sequence of information.

 

Visual Aids - 5 points

5       Visuals nicely reinforce presentation, are interesting and easy to follow. (Student obviously put time and effort into the construction of visuals.)

4       Visuals reinforce presentation and are easy to follow. (Some time and effort are noted.)

3       Visuals reinforce presentation and are easy to follow. (Little time and effort are noted.)

0       No Visuals are used.

           

Content Knowledge - 5 points

5       Student demonstrates full knowledge (more than required) with explanations and elaboration.

4       Student is at ease with content, but fails to elaborate.

3       Student is uncomfortable with information and is able to answer only rudimentary questions.

2       Student does not have grasp of information; student cannot answer questions about subject.

           

Delivery - 5 points

5       Student used a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms.

4       Student's voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly.

3       Student incorrectly pronounces terms. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation.

2       Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for students in the back of class to hear.

 

Time Frame - 5 points

5              Presentation falls within required time frame of 4 to 6 minutes.

4              Presentation is more than maximum time and less than 9 minutes.

3              Presentation is less than minimum time, but more than 2 ½ minutes.

2              Presentation is between 9 to 12 minutes.

1       Presentation is less than 2 ½ minutes or more than 12 minutes. (Any presentations over 12 minutes may be stopped.)

 

 

-         The Minimum Grade is 12.5 which equal 50%.

-         A 10 percent deduction will be given for late presentations. Presentations more than 1 week late will not be accepted and will receive a grade of 0, except in extreme cases.

-         Take pride in your work.
