us make man in our image, after our

have dominion over the fish of the
sea, and over the birds of the air,
and over the cattle, and
over all the earth, and over every
creeping thing that
creeps upon the earth.”
[27] So God created
man in his own image, in the image of God
he created him; male and female he
created them.

Again, the document
centers on control and “authorization” granted by a supreme
being. There’s a sense of passing authority or dominion
to humans, but no sense of balance or options
exercised by humans in relation to their surroundings. This directly
contrasts belief systems emphasized by south and east Asian groups. The
point of view is again that of a devout believer taking a
position of faith, justified by religious text.
